Scheffler tops fellow GolfForever Tour Athlete Tom Kim in one-hole playoff
Aspen, CO – GolfForever, the Official Golf Fitness System of the PGA TOUR and leading at-home golf training system that helps golfers play without limits, congratulates GolfForever investor and Tour Athlete Scottie Scheffler on his sixth victory of the season at the Travelers Championship. The World No. 1 golfer posted blistering rounds of 65-64-64-65 on his way to his 12th career title on the PGA TOUR after edging past fellow GolfForever investor and Tour Athlete Tom Kim who birdied the 72nd hole to force to the two-man playoff.
Scheffler stayed in contention all week before reaching 22-under-par and ahead of everyone in the field until Kim’s dramatic final-hole putt tied him at the end of regulation. Steady all four rounds, Scheffler finished the tournament leading the field in Strokes Gained: Total (12.51), hitting 89% of TPC River Highlands greens in regulation and hitting 47 of 57 fairways in regulation.
With his win, the 2022 and 2024 Masters champion become the first player since Arnold Palmer in 1962 to amass six wins in PGA TOUR season before July and collected $3.6 million in first prize earnings in this elevated event. Kim, Scheffler’s good friend and frequent workout partner in their hometown of Dallas, moved up to No. 39 in the FedEx Cup Standings and earned more than $2 million for his second-place finish. Kim, 22, and Scheffler, 28, share a June 21 birthday, which took place this year during the second round of the Travelers.
“What Scottie Scheffler is accomplishing at the highest level of professional golf is humbling and it’s also a fitting testament to tireless work he does to prepare his golf swing and his body to repeatably perform at peak levels,” says Jon Levy, VP of Communications and Strategic Partnerships. “It’s no surprise that GolfForever Tour Athlete Tom Kim was right there on Scottie’s heels. He prepares in so many of the same ways as Scottie, it will only be a matter of time before this talented young player wins again. The best takeaway from this tournament is the fact that preparing your body for the rigors of tournament golf with a platform like GolfForever can be a huge differentiator.”
Scheffler has religiously used GolfForever at home and on Tour since he began his prodigious run of wins in 2022. Additionally, Kim, two-time major winner and 2023 Ryder Cup captain Zach Johnson, 12-time PGA TOUR winner Justin Leonard, and four-time PGA TOUR winner Ryan Palmer comprise the GolfForever team of Tour Athletes that joins over 400 PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour players, and thousands of amateur golfers, who use GolfForever daily.
