Ultimate Guide Features 58 Golf Resorts Spread Across 20 Caribbean Islands and Bermuda
ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 12, 2023) – NBC Sports Next’s GolfPass today unveiled the most complete directory of Caribbean golf resorts ever assembled, reminding golfers that a Caribbean adventure can be much more than just sun and sand.
The Caribbean Golf Resort Guide follows the 2022 release of the U.S. Golf Resort Guide, another first-of-its-kind guide that features more than 800 resorts around America.
“Most people take winter trips to the Caribbean looking for sunny weather. Maybe this guide will encourage them to bring the clubs more often,” said GolfPass Managing Editor Jason Scott Deegan, who also wrote the introduction to the guide. “A number of these golf resorts are among the best in the world. Luxury accommodations and top service pairs well with famous courses designed by Pete Dye, Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Tom Fazio, and others.”
The Caribbean is home to 13 different sovereign island nations: Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Saint Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.
Twenty different Caribbean islands, plus Bermuda*, are home to at least one golf resort:
- Anguilla
- Bahamas (golf resorts are spread among five different islands)
- Bermuda*
- Hispaniola (Dominican Republic)
- Curacao
- Aruba
- Barbados
- Cuba
- Jamaica
- Puerto Rico*
- St. Croix
- Turks and Caicos
- Trinidad and Tobago
- St. Vincent and the Grenadines
- St. Kitts and Nevis (two resorts on two separate islands that operate as one nation)
- St. Lucia
- Grand Cayman
(*Editor’s note: GolfPass has chosen to include Bermuda in this guide even though it is located much farther north in the Atlantic Ocean. Also, Puerto Rico also is included in GolfPass’ U.S. Golf Resort Guide).
The GolfPass Caribbean Golf Resort Guide consists of 16 different sections profiling Caribbean islands/nations, plus Bermuda, with each section including dedicated pages for every golf resort, complete with maps, photos, key property information, as well as golf course features and reviews to help guide golfers researching for their next trip. GolfPass, which offers more than 2 million golfer-generated golf course reviews, currently lists nearly 2,000 reviews of golf courses in the Caribbean and Central America, with an overall average rating of 4.0 out of 5 stars.
Deegan says the newest GolfPass guide comes at a perfect time, with the Caribbean primed to raise its profile in the golf world. The highly anticipated Point Hardy Golf Club, the new Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw-designed course at Cabot St. Lucia, is scheduled to open in December and already is being hailed among the most scenic places to play in the world.
GolfPass offers a wide selection of Caribbean golf packages from popular resort brands such as Sandals, Beaches, Wyndham, Grand Hyatt, and Westin, which showcase several of the Caribbean’s premier courses, including the Royal Blue at Baha Mar in the Bahamas; the best seaside courses of the Dominican Republic – Teeth of the Dog and Dye Fore at Casa de Campo; and Punta Espada and Corales (home to the Caribbean’s only PGA TOUR event) in Punta Cana. GolfPass members receive $100 off select packages. GolfNow, the world’s largest online tee-time marketplace, offers tee times at 22 golf courses in the Caribbean.
