APGS 2019 – A 5G Mindset – Golf’s Recreational Relevancy Shrinks – What’s The Fix?
As golfing populations decline, golf clubs have been plunged into a tizzy trying to grapple with the challenge to come up with lasting solutions.
Many clubs affected by this decline try and dish out the same old, same old fix-its and are surprised that there is no up-tick whatsoever! Given the seriousness of the problem, the 2019 Asia Pacific Golf Summit has taken it upon itself to launch a full-on onslaught to find effective way to beat the challenge.
It has turned to the San Diego-based JC Resorts, a proven leader in the management and operation of a highly successful operation and regarded as being amongst the best in the business. JC Resorts is noted for its ethos which is firmly founded on the belief – “Making Memories. Every Guest. Every Time.”
There is an urgent need to promote an “activity-based” programme to make all recreational, leisure, gaming and F&B services relevant to all– across all generational sectors and genders– and to create a community spirit that is top-notch.
“Golf clubs need to be in the entertainment business. In most cases, if just left up to golf they will likely fail in the long term,” explained John McNair, Vice President of Golf Operations at JC Resorts. “That is why clubs must continually re-invent themselves, create new programming and have activities for the entire family,” McNair added.
He is a veteran club manager and an active PGA Class A member whomanages all aspects of JC Resorts’ golf operations, course maintenance and food and beverage venues.
“Success for a golf club today has to be based on its ability to provide an exceptional experience for every guest and to bring a very high level of passion, integrity and dedication to everything we do,” McNair emphasized.
McNair will be amongst one of some twenty world-class speakers who have been booked to speak at APGS 2019.
The Summit will be staged on November 4 – 6in the futuristic Indian city of Gurugram and the venue will be the multi-award winning DLF Golf and Country Club.
