As the calendar turned to 2022 – GolfTalk Live, and its 19th Hole Podcast, took on new dynamic, featuring new on-air personalities, a merger with another podcast, and an exciting new home.
Beginning last month, February 2022, golf industry veterans, and PGA Professionals, “Boston” Bob Baldassari, and Brendon Elliott began sharing the microphone with current Co-Host Allen DePuy in the GolfTalk Live studio. In addition, the revamped show will feature contributing segments from Golf Development Specialist Andy Hydorn; our Gen-Z perspective from Andrew DePuy & Christian Nizamis as well as regular contributions from GolfTalk Live Founder – Tony Leodora.
Baldassari and Elliott come to GolfTalk Live via a merger of their Love of the Links podcast that is all things golf and GolfTalk Live. Listeners will gain weekly from the depth of teaching knowledge from each of these multiple PGA award-winners.
Baldassari, a second-generation PGA Member and Certified PGA Professional in Player Development, served as the PGA leader for such successful initiatives including the PGA Junior League Golf and PGA Junior Golf Camps, and with Augusta National Golf Club and the USGA for the Drive, Chip & Putt Championship.
Elliott, a PGA Professional, Coach, Mentor as well as the 2017 PGA National Youth Player Development Award, is considered an expert by his peers in all facets of the business, and has had numerous appearances on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive to talk about the state of the game. He is the Executive Director of the Little Linksters Association for Jr. Golf Development 501c3, and Director of Instruction for the Little Linksters Golf Academies. Elliott is also a writer for both PGA.com and Golf Range Magazine and is a member of the Golf Writers Association of America.
Andy Hydorn, another new member of the team is another industry veteran. He is currently a director of player and coach development for Ikonik Golf and has a long career in other areas of the golf industry including Callaway Golf and Back 9 USA. Hydorn is also a competitive amateur player on the national level. He lives in Houston, TX but still calls Boston home.
The show will also find a permanent on-course home in the Sunshine State – with the creation of the GolfTalk Live studio at Trident Golf Club located at Club Med Sandpiper Bay in Port St Lucie. Trident Golf Club is home to the Trident Golf Performance Center – a world class instructional venue with certified PGA teaching professionals, 300+ yard range and indoor simulators – completing the vision of GolfTalk Live’s role in helping golfers more enjoy the game.
“The content that will be created from this group will be amazing for our listeners as we feature entertaining and informative interviews with the Men & Women shaping the game of golf” said Co-Host Allen DePuy. “We will feature a free-flowing format where contributing personalities along with special welcomed guests will rotate weekly, while Brendan, Bob and myself provide a constant presence to the show. I’m excited for the future!” DePuy added.
