GOLFTEC Pioneered Advanced Swing Analysis for Players Across the Country Decades Ago. The New Game Evaluation Experience Brings Easy-to-Understand, Tour-level Analytics to Any Golfer.

July 1, 2026

The Game Evaluation uses proprietary OPTIMOTION 3D technology, predictive analytics and a precision, real-world assessment of players’ shot-making to give every golfer a personalized, actionable plan to get better

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — GOLFTEC, the world leader in golf improvement, today announced the launch of the Game Evaluation, the biggest fundamental change to the way students are introduced to the lesson experience since the company’s founding more than 25 years ago. Replacing the Swing Evaluation, the Game Evaluation uses GOLFTEC’s proprietary OPTIMOTION 3D motion-capture technology alongside launch monitor data and predictive analytics to measure a player’s performance across a full range of shot types in a simulator setting — then delivers a specific, customized plan to help that player reach his or her goal score.

After a two-month pilot at 45 U.S. locations, the Game Evaluation is now available at all of GOLFTEC’s more than 200 U.S. locations, with a global rollout to follow.

“The Swing Evaluation helped millions of golfers start their improvement journey, and we’re proud of what it accomplished,” said Joe Assell, CEO of GOLFTEC Enterprises. “But the Game Evaluation is a generational leap forward. For the first time, we can show every player not just what their swing looks like, but what their game actually produces — what score their current skills predict, and exactly which improvements will make the biggest difference in getting them where they want to be.”

In simplest terms, the new Game Evaluation is the easiest way for players at any level to get better faster. It begins with a Skills Assessment conducted in a GOLFTEC bay, where players hit shots across multiple distances and shot types on a simulator. OPTIMOTION 3D tracks players’ movements, while launch monitor data measures the shots those movements produce. Together, they generate Assessment Analytics that separate what a player is doing well from what is most costing them strokes — and show in real time how each skill contributes to a predicted score.

“A Game Evaluation gives you objective data to see where you can improve, but also what you’re good at,” said Nick Clearwater, GOLFTEC’s General Manager and Vice President of Instruction and a Golf Digest 50 Best Teacher. “Players will come out of it certain about what they need to work on and with a concrete plan on what to do about it.”

That predictive score is the heart of what makes the Game Evaluation different. Rather than describing a swing in isolation, the analytics connect physical measurements directly to on-course results. GOLFTEC Certified Coaches use that connection to prioritize the specific improvements with the greatest potential impact on reaching the player’s goal score — turning a comprehensive diagnostic into a real, actionable improvement plan.

A GOLFTEC Game Evaluation shows you how and why you shoot the scores you do, and helps your coach build the most direct path to achieving your goals.

“Every Game Evaluation ends with a clear answer to the question every golfer has: what do I need to work on to actually shoot lower scores?” Assell said. “Our coaches have always been great at answering that. Now the data makes that answer faster, more precise, and more personalized than ever before.”

The foundation of the Game Evaluation is built on assets no competitor can replicate. OPTIMOTION, the wireless and sensorless motion-capture technology that has been seen on tour broadcasts and anchors every GOLFTEC center, tracks 15 specific joint centers and collects more than 4,000 data points per swing. Paired with it is the collective intelligence drawn from millions of lessons — a dataset that gives GOLFTEC’s predictive analytics a foundation that no startup or subscription app can match.

Nearly two million golfers have trusted GOLFTEC to help them improve, and the average GOLFTEC student gets more than seven shots better. With the Game Evaluation, any player — regardless of current skill level or how long they’ve been playing — can get a clearer picture of where they stand, a smarter plan for getting better, and more enjoyment out of every round they play.

The Game Evaluation is now available at all GOLFTEC U.S. locations. To schedule a Game Evaluation, visit golftec.com or call your nearest GOLFTEC Center.
