GOLFTEC Coach Matt Lohmeyer Wins 2019 Northern Texas PGA Professional Championship
Fort Worth Instructor Shines at The Lakes at Castle Hills
GOLFTEC coach Matt Lohmeyer, who teaches at the Montgomery Plaza center in Fort Worth, won the 2019 Northern Texas PGA Professional Championship this past week at The Lakes at Castle Hills in Lewisville, Texas. GOLFTEC is the world’s leading provider of golf lessons and premium club fittings.
Lohmeyer’s excellent ball striking and clutch putting were key factors, as he shot six under par to win the 36-hole event. With the victory, he earned a spot in the 53rd PGA Professional Championship, held April 26 – 29, 2020, at Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa in Austin, Texas. The low 20 scorers at that event will earn berths into the 102nd PGA Championship at Harding Park Golf Club in San Francisco.
“Matt is both an incredible player and outstanding coach, and what he accomplished against this very strong field is something he should be extremely proud of,” says Joe Assell, founder and chief executive officer of GOLFTEC. “He puts the same effort into his students’ games as he does his own and it’s an honor to watch all his hard work pay off.”
The Texas native has become one of the top instructors in the state through unquestioned dedication and complete focus. Since joining GOLFTEC in 2014, Lohmeyer has taught over 9,000 lessons to golfers in the Fort Worth area. With more than 100 active students, he is among the most sought-after coaches in the region.
“Matt has been playing incredibly well this summer, as he also carded a final round 61 at the Texas State Open a few weeks ago to take low PGA Professional honors at that event,” says Adrian Kelley, center manager of GOLFTEC Fort Worth. “His devotion to his craft is inspiring to us all and we could not have a better instructor representing GOLFTEC.”
The renowned, global GOLFTEC coaching team is comprised of experienced instructors, most of whom are PGA Professionals and have taught thousands of lessons. Each goes through a rigorous multi-week certification at GOLFTEC University including continued, advanced training to master the analysis of golf swing mechanics, the technology utilized by GOLFTEC and the most productive teaching techniques. Committed to strengthening the industry and hiring only the best staff, GOLFTEC is the largest employer of PGA Instructors in the world.
Beyond instruction, GOLFTEC’s premium club fitting services use proprietary TECFIT® software to determine the correct clubhead / shaft combination for each student. The TOUR-like fitting experience combines swing characteristics with ball flight data. Nearly 75% of golfers who have undergone a driver fitting gained an average of 25 yards over previous equipment.
