Denver, CO, — GOLFTEC, the world leader in golf lessons and premium club fittings, congratulates PGA Tour Professional and GOLFTEC Ambassador Jim Knous on his most recent performance at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
With his T-57 finish, Knous earned conditional status on the PGA Tour and full status on the Korn Ferry Tour for the 2021-2022 season. That finish, combined with his first start of the season where Knous held a share of the 54-hole lead at the Fortinet Championship before finishing T-11, earned him enough FedEx Cup points for Tour status.
This past week was an incredible test for Knous, who battled on Friday to make the cut, then had to fight back again in his back nine on Sunday to grab the required top-67 finish he needed. “I just told myself we’re going to do this, so I kept fighting and I’m proud to have done it,” said an emotional Knous. “I play for my family and to tee it up with them in the back of my mind, I just want to make them proud.”
A native Coloradan, Knous went to school at Colorado School of Mines and still lives in Littleton, Colorado. Many Tour Pros elect to live in warmer weather climates, but Knous can still get his practice in year-round thanks to the indoor practice facility at the School of Mines, which includes a GOLFTEC hitting bay. “It’s a huge resource for me to be able to see my swing on video and get on the launch monitor,” said Knous. “The video helps me quickly evaluate my swing and implement any changes, and the launch monitor ensures my yardages are dialed in for each club.”
Knous is one of the first PGA Tour Professionals to sign a partnership agreement with GOLFTEC, and the company couldn’t be more excited about it. “Obviously with GOLFTEC Headquarters located in Denver and with Jim being from Colorado, it’s awesome to be able to partner with a local guy on Tour,” said GOLFTEC SVP Marketing, Chris Kuebrich. “Jim’s recent performance in Bermuda is a perfect example of why he’s a great fit as a GOLFTEC Ambassador. He showed a level of grit and determination that’s an inspiration for all golfers.”
