GOLFTEC Launches Groundbreaking Program to help Aspiring PGA Professionals Pass Playing Ability Test

(ENGLEWOOD, Colo.) – GOLFTEC – the world leader in golf lessons and premium club fittings – introduces a unique program to help aspiring PGA Professionals pass their Playing Ability Test (PAT), as the company will provide qualified individuals a FREE Game Plan that consists of a swing evaluation, 25 lessons, 12 Months of video practice and one club fitting.

Candidates for the program will work with one of GOLFTEC’s certified coaches, who will guide them through the process and monitor improvement. Designed to be a measure of golfing ability, the PAT is a way to gauge if prospective PGA Professionals have the skills needed to teach and grow the game. In order to become a PGA Professional, players must pass the 36-hole PAT by achieving a 36-hole score within 15 shots of the course rating. According to the PGA of America, less than 20% of those taking the test achieve a passing score.

“Our company was started by PGA Professionals and to this day they are the foundation our business, so we know first-hand how nerve-wracking the PAT experience can be for would-be professionals,” says Joe Assell, co-founder and chief executive officer of GOLFTEC. “Our goal was to develop a free program that would allow those who have done it to give back to the future generations of aspiring PGA Professionals.”

“GOLFTEC has been a valued employer of PGA Professionals for over twenty years and this program further demonstrates their commitment to helping the men and women who strive to teach and grow this wonderful game,” says John Easterbrook, Chief Membership Officer, PGA of America. “Through its driven approach to golf improvement, GOLFTEC has helped many people play better golf and those seeking to pass their PAT should consider taking advantage of this terrific opportunity.”

Minimum requirements to remain eligible for the program are that aspiring PGA Professionals take at least one lesson every other week and practice on their own in-bay once per week. For further details or more information on how to enroll for the complimentary Game Plan, please visit golftec.com/PAT.

The global GOLFTEC coaching team is comprised of experienced instructors that have graduated from GOLFTEC University – a multi-week certification program based around a curriculum of mastering advanced training of golf swing mechanics and GOLFTEC’s proprietary technology used in all Training Centers. The majority of GOLFTEC Certified Personal Coaches are PGA Professionals who have taught thousands of lessons.
