About Golfweek Amateur Tour and Senior Amateur Tour
Headquartered in Hilton Head SC, the Golfweek Amateur Tour is the oldest and largest amateur golf tour inthe United States. In 1995, Dennis McCormac established the Amateur Golf Tour (AGT), now operating underthe name of MAC Golf, LLC. In 2010, Golfweek signed on as the title sponsor and the name changed to theGolfweek Amateur Tour. From January to September, each of the 47 markets host 10-15 tournaments and6,450+ members select Tour Swag, earn points, and compete for an invitation to participate in a field of 850 –1,000 members in a 3-Day, 54-hole National Championship each October. The Tour’s popularity and marketdemands led to the creation of the Senior Amateur Tour (1999) dedicated to members 50 years or older. McCormac took the same general tried-and-true structure of the Golfweek Amateur Tour and tailored it forseniors with some modifications to tee box guidelines, Tour Swag, and a 2-Day, 36-hole NationalChampionship for a field of 350-450 members. The Senior Amateur Tour has now grown to over 2,400members in 27 markets throughout the United States.
