Event provides opportunity for professional players without tour status
Scottsdale, Ariz. – The Westin Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. will host the first Good Good Golf Championship, a professional golf tournament designed to find the next great golfer and follow their journey to the next level. The event will feature a 63-player qualifier on Monday May 8th, to determine the 12 players that will advance to the final 36 holes and compete for the $100,000 purse. Tuesday, May 9th will be a content shoot day with the 12 competitors and Good Good in preparation for the main event, which will take place on May 10th and 11th. The 12-man field will play 18 holes each day, with the lowest cumulative score taking home the $50,000 first-place prize. All 12 competitors will be guaranteed prize money, and Good Good will cover airfare and hotel.
“We know the Good Good community has fantastic talent. We want to find the best and help support them in their professional career. We are excited to be pulling off this event and doing so in such a great location at the Westin Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale,” said Good Good Golf CEO Matt Kendrick.
The event will be covered on Good Good Golf’s expansive social network and aired on Good Good Golf’s YouTube channel, which currently boasts more than 1.4 million subscribers.
“We are dedicated to supporting player development at every level here at Westin Kierland Golf Club, and at every Troon-affiliated facility,” said Westin Kierland Golf Club, Director of Golf Operations, Nancy Dickens. “Stepping up to host this first-of-its-kind event with the creative folks of Good Good Golf was an easy decision. We’re looking forward to the collaboration and supporting these players who are chasing their dreams.”
The Westin Kierland Golf Club is a Troon-managed facility designed by Scott Miller featuring 27 holes that form a complementary collection of nines – each with its own flavor and strategy but all equally enjoyable and challenging.
“Good Good Golf first approached Troon with this cool concept and with the priority of finding a locale with great weather, incredible golf and a venue that would be a canvas for the content and competition. Scottsdale and the Westin Kierland Resort made for a perfect match. The team at Kierland will do an exceptional job hosting this event,” said Kris Strauss, EVP of Global Sales and Marketing for Troon.
