Desert Highlands to Unveil Graeme Baxter Artwork of Club’s Signature Hole on Feb. 5
Artist’s Rendition of 14th Hole to Be Showcased at Club’s 35th Anniversary Party
(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.) – Desert Highlands – the acclaimed luxury golf club and community in the stunning Sonoran Desert of North Scottsdale – will unveil a painting of the club’s signature 14th hole from renowned sporting artist Graeme Baxter on February 5.
The unveiling is part of the club’s 35th Anniversary celebration beginning at 6 p.m. Deemed one of the world’s most highly acclaimed artists of golf landscapes, Baxter first visited Desert Highlands in September. Over the next few months, he spent a significant amount of time at the club taking photos and narrowing down the details of his vision for the painting.
Baxter, who is scheduled to attend Desert Highlands’ 35th Anniversary party, is the official artist of many of the world’s foremost golf tournaments including The Ryder Cup, The Open Championship, The Presidents Cup, The Kraft Nabisco Championship, as well as the PGA Tour and European Tour. His artwork is proudly on display in clubhouses at St. Andrews, Augusta National, Pebble Beach and many more.

In recognition of Desert Highlands’ 35th Anniversary, Baxter will be issuing 35 limited edition canvas giclée for interested members.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Graeme, and have become a fan of his incredible work,” says Desert Highlands General Manager / Chief Operating Officer Monty Becton. “Desert Highlands will be the first golf course Graeme has painted in the state of Arizona.”
Considered one of Scottsdale’s elite golf club communities, Desert Highlands recently welcomed a new and talented executive team for 2019, highlighted by Becton and Chief Financial Officer Lisa Hutcherson. The year 2019 also will observe the club undergoing a renovation project to its Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Design that includes a new irrigation system, updated cart paths, a renovation to all bunkers and minor changes to the 13th hole. The $7 million project should be completed by this summer.
