Legacy scholarships benefit children and grandchildren of GCSAA members
Lawrence, Kan. – Grass Clippings is committing financial support to the GCSAA Foundation, the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), to fund the GCSAA Legacy Awards. The GCSAA Legacy Awards competition offers education aid to the children and grandchildren of GCSAA members through $1,500 scholarships.
Grass Clippings is a Phoenix-based modern golf brand. After forming as an apparel brand in 2018, the company expanded to include Grass Clippings Rolling Hills, the first fully lit 18-hole golf course in Arizona, and Grass League, the world’s first high-stakes par-3 golf league.
“The Legacy Awards allow us to continue serving our members by helping reduce the financial burden of higher education for their children and grandchildren,” GCSAA CEO Rhett Evans said. “Grass Clippings has a deep understanding of the essential role superintendents play in the game of golf, and we thank them for their support of our members and their families through the Legacy Awards.
With their sponsorship of the Legacy Awards, Grass Clippings becomes a member of the GCSAA Foundation’s Platinum Tee Club, which recognizes supporters who donate more than $5,000 annually.
“Grass Clippings is profoundly honored to express our commitment to nurturing the future of golf by supporting its very foundation: the grass beneath our feet and the dedicated individuals who keep it green. Through our partnership with the GCSAA Foundation and the Legacy Awards, we celebrate the heroes of the game and invest in the education of their families, ensuring the spirit and sustainability of golf for generations to come,” Jake Hoselton, Grass Clippings co-founder and CEO said.

About Gras Clippings
Grass Clippings is more than just a golf brand; it’s a tribute to the heart and soul behind the sport—the greenskeepers. Founded in Phoenix in 2018 by a quartet of passionate golfers, Grass Clippings emerged from a desire for a brand with meaning, one that golfers could wear with pride and that honored the unsung heroes of the game. Motivated by their admiration for the craftsmanship and dedication of a local greenskeeper, the founders realized these individuals, who are as much scientists and artists as they are caretakers, must be brought to the forefront of the game. This realization sparked the creation of Grass Clippings, a brand dedicated to sustainable, unique apparel that celebrates the tireless work, knowledge, and spirit of greenskeepers everywhere.
Adopting “Stay Grassy” as its mantra, Grass Clippings embodies an Earth-First approach, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and connection to the land. The brand tells the stories of early mornings, maintenance yards, and the romance of the golf course through its clothing lines, aiming to shine a light on the essential role greenskeepers play in the golf experience.
Since its inception, Grass Clippings has grown beyond apparel to revolutionize the golf landscape in Arizona and beyond. The brand introduced Grass Clipping Rolling Hills, Arizona’s first fully lit 18-hole golf course, providing players with an unparalleled experience. Further expanding its reach, Grass Clippings launched the Grass League, the world’s first competitive high-stakes par-3 golf league. This innovative league offers a new level of competition and excitement for golf enthusiasts.
Grass Clippings stands as a multifaceted golf brand that honors the tradition and people behind the game while pushing the boundaries of what golf can be. Through its clothing, courses, and competition, Grass Clippings invites everyone to recognize the invaluable contributions of greenskeepers and to embrace the ethos of staying grassy.
