Franchise valuations in the Par 3 professional league have increased 525% in two years, growing from $160,000 to $1 million per franchise
TEMPE, ARIZ. — Grass League today announced the opening of its 2026 expansion franchise application process, inviting qualified ownership groups to apply for one of two available franchise slots ahead of the 2027 season. The new franchises would become the 12th and 13th in the league’s rapidly growing portfolio.
Applications will be accepted from June 11 through September 1, 2026, with new franchise owners expected to be publicly announced in December 2026.
“The demand we’ve seen for Grass League franchises has exceeded every expectation,” said Jake Hoselton, CEO of Grass League. “The trajectory tells you everything about where this league is headed and the kind of opportunity that’s in front of prospective ownership groups.”
The league has generated substantial inbound interest from a diverse group of prospective owners and investors, including private equity firms, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, professional athletes and golfers, celebrities, and some of the most influential content creators in sports and entertainment. Grass League is seeking ownership groups that bring three core attributes: the financial resources to build and operate a professional sports franchise, deep roots within both the golf community and their local market, and a proven digital and social media platform capable of driving brand growth, fan engagement, and long-term franchise value.
“We’re not just selling franchises – we’re selecting partners who will help build this league market by market,” said Hoselton. “The right ownership group doesn’t just write a check. They bring credibility in the golf world, influence in their local market, and a media-forward mindset that matches the way Grass League reaches its audience.”
Grass League currently holds a two-year broadcasting deal with Golf Channel through 2027, with plans to expand the league schedule in the upcoming season. The league’s championship events — the Grass Clippings Open, Summer Grind, and the Grass League Championship — feature individual purses in excess of $150,000, golf’s only live draft, and a franchise-based competition structure unlike anything else in the sport.
Interested ownership groups are encouraged to submit applications early. The application window closes September 1, 2026, with final franchise selections expected by October 10, 2026, and public announcements coordinated in December 2026.
