Greg Norman Golf Course Design Announces Grand Opening of KN Golf Links Cam Ranh
Norman’s Third Design in Vietnam Opens to High Praise
Greg Norman Golf Course Design (GNGCD) – the premier signature golf course design firm in the world – announces the Grand Opening of KN Golf Links Cam Ranh in Vietnam.
Located in Long Beach, Cam Ranh City, the 18-hole par-72 championship golf course plays along stunning natural sand dunes with breathtaking views of the South Sea. Defined by impressive topography and dramatic bunkering, the true links course offers varying degrees of playability and measures over 7,150 yards from the Championship tees.
Norman attended the Grand Opening on Saturday, Oct. 27 joined by KN Investment Group Chairman Le Van Kiem, VIP guests, international media and other dignitaries.
“The first thing that stood out to me about the Cam Ranh site was the massive scale of the property. We are not often given sites this big to work with, so we wanted to make sure we made the best use of the land when laying out the course,” said Norman. “This resulted in a very special links course that is one-of-a-kind in this region and will undoubtedly stand among the best in Asia if not the world.”
KN Golf Links is part of KN Paradise, an 800-hectare integrated resort venture that is also slated to include an array of luxury villas, a gaming complex and private beach club. The entire development is owned by KN Investment Group, which also includes Long Thanh Golf Club and Long Vien Golf Club in its portfolio of courses.
“Cam Ranh is on the cusp of becoming the next great hot spot in Southeast Asia and having a Greg Norman Golf Course Design of this caliber is only going to speed that process,” said Simon Mees, General Manager at KN Golf Links Cam Ranh. “This course will surely help to strengthen Vietnam’s standing as an emerging must-visit golf destination and we are thrilled to share it with the world.”
KN Golf Links Cam Ranh is GNGCD’s 105th completed design, six of which are included in the 2018-2019 Golf Digest “World’s 100 Greatest” rankings: No. 18 New South Wales G.C. (Australia), No. 31 Ellerston (Australia), No. 35 The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip (Vietnam), No. 82 Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth Course (UAE), No. 94 Danang Golf Club (Vietnam) and No. 98 The National Moonah Course (Australia). The Bluffs Ho Tram jumped an impressive 39 spots from the previous list.
