As industry leaders in education, the Association of Golf Merchandisers kicked off the official new year and lead-in to the virtual 2021 PGA Merchandise Show with their Annual Meeting and announcement of their Platinum Golf Shop Awards on January 25, 2021. The Haggin Oaks Golf Super Shop in Sacramento, CA not only was named as one of the Top 100 Platinum Award-Winners but was also selected in rare company as one of the select few “Best of the Best.” This marks the 35th straight year that the Super Shop has been named as a Top 100 Golf Shop, first from Golf Shop Operations, then Golf World and now the AGM.
The AGM Platinum Awards honor premier golf shops around the world who are recognized based on criteria that includes a combination of visual displays, customer service initiatives, social media initiatives, shop renovations, promotional ideas, merchandising events, innovative use of fixtures or props, retail initiatives, staff training and growing the game of golf at their facilites. Experiential retail is also a hot topic and is becoming the new norm for driving traffic and is also a selection criteria. The Association of Golf Merchandisers 2021 Platinum Awards also recognizes the premier golf shops that have created in-shop experiences for their members/customers.
The Haggin Oaks Golf Super Shop is a 15,200 square foot retail store that is a recognized club fitting leader from the top brands in golf, including PING, Callaway, Mizuno, Titleist, TaylorMade, and many more through their Player Performance Studio. It hosts apparel concept stores from the likes of Under Armour, Travis Mathew, Nike Golf, Puma Golf, Adidas, Jamie Sadock and more.
