Hal Sutton, forever remembered for his duel with Tiger at the 2000 Players Championship and the iconic phrase, “Be the right club today!”, has signed a historic agreement with Makefield Putters of Bensalem, PA.
“I’ve never endorsed a putter before, and never wanted to until now. The Makefield putter is the finest example of advanced engineering combined with look and feel aesthetics I’ve ever experienced. I love it and I am truly excited to join the Makefield team.”
Sutton, 66, from Shreveport, Louisiana, is a 14-time winner on the PGA Tour. His standout year was 1983. He claimed the PGA Championship, The Players Championship, PGA Player of the Year, and topped the PGA Tour Money List.
He achieved a career-high ranking of No. 4 in the Official World Golf Ranking, made four Ryder Cup appearances (including one as a non-playing Captain), and in 2007 received the Payne Stewart Award for his charitable work founding the Christus Schumpert Sutton Children’s Hospital in Shreveport.
Makefield Putters, headquartered in Bensalem, PA, is renowned for its radial cusp face technology and 3X weight system. These innovations reduce skid and align weight with the ball’s equator to ensure a more accurate roll.
