HOUSTON, Texas – The Easter Bunny made a unique and very special VIP guest appearance at Northgate Country Club this past weekend. Flying in by helicopter, he arrived at the club in style, dropping plastic Easter Eggs with candy from high above.
Meanwhile, more than 100 kids were waiting in anticipation on the club’s “Fast-Five” course Hole No. 5. It was truly a “hare-raising” experience for the kids, who raced across the fairway faster than any tortoise (or parent) could catch them to collect their coveted eggs.
It was all part of a weekend that saw 400 people also take part in pony rides and meet and greets with the Easter Bunny.
Yes, you could say that Easter was an “egg-celent” time for families at Northgate Country Club.
Northgate Country Club and its sister club Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Club were acquired by Concert Golf Partners from Dan McIntyre last November. This is the first-ever helicopter egg drop at Northgate.
Established in 1983, Northgate Country Club is considered North Houston’s premier golf club and the centerpiece of the upscale Northgate Forest community. Northgate features 18 holes of Championship Golf designed by Bruce Devlin and Robert von Hagge, an executive 5-hole course aptly named the “Fast-Five,” eight lighted tennis courts, three pools, and a clubhouse for member dining, social events, and the member-favorite Sunday Brunch.
Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Club, located 45 minutes north of Northgate on beautiful Lake Conroe, opened in 1976. Previously, Golf Digest ranked Walden Golf Club as the best course in the Houston area; and the 5th best in the state of Texas. In addition, GOLF Magazine once ranked the par 5, 11th hole as one of the top 500 holes in the world. Holes 11 – 13, situated on a peninsula, are notoriously challenging and commonly referred to as the “Walden Triangle,” a nod to the Bermuda Triangle.
McIntyre, who bought Walden in 2004 and Northgate in 2012, chose Concert Golf Partners as his successor after investigating a broad field of buyers, including other owner-operators
