Herndon, VA – Heritage Golf Group, the fastest-growing owner and operator of golf and country clubs in the US, has acquired Spring Creek Golf Club, located in central Virginia, just outside Charlottesville. Terms are not disclosed.
Heritage Golf Group’s portfolio now includes 35 well-located private country clubs, high-end daily-fee, and resort courses in the eastern, central, and Rocky Mountain regions of the US. The addition of Spring Creek is its third Virginia location, joining The Dominion Club in Richmond and the 1757 Golf Club outside of Washington, DC near Dulles Airport.
“Spring Creek is a nationally recognized golf course in a growing, vibrant area with outstanding access to Charlottesville. We’re excited to enhance the member and guest experience as we expand our footprint in central Virginia. The highly regarded Spring Creek Golf Club will be a wonderful addition to the Heritage Plus network for both regional and traveling membership play,” said Andy Miller, Chief Revenue Officer, Heritage Golf Group.
The par 72, 18-hole championship golf course is 7,348 yards from the back tees. It was designed by Ed Carton as a course that is accessible for all golfers yet challenging for tournament professionals. Bent grass fairways, beautiful greens and the natural contour of the land help make Spring Creek a unique, exceptional golfing experience. The club features a full-service bermuda grass practice range, including a putting green, short-game area and practice bunker, and a full-service golf shop offering apparel, shoes, bags, balls, club fitting and club repair.
The 15,000 square foot clubhouse with large multi-level outdoor areas offers spectacular views of the challenging 18th finishing hole. The restaurant is open to the public and receives rave reviews on dining ambience. The club has noteworthy private event space complemented with an outdoor gathering area.
Spring Creek Golf Course is adjacent to the 950-acre Spring Creek residential community in the rapidly growing Zion Crossroads neighborhood along Interstate 64 and is ideally located 15 minutes from downtown Charlottesville and 45 minutes from Richmond.
The Heritage team, with extensive proficiency in golf club operations, continues to elevate the member experience through transforming and improving amenities, operations, and programming at recently acquired clubs. The expanding network further bolsters the value of being a Heritage Plus Network member which is exclusively for golf members at the collection of Heritage Golf Group clubs.
Since purchasing Heritage Golf Group in January 2020, the current ownership and leadership team has grown the company to include 35 clubs across the US. With its home office in northern Virginia, just outside Washington DC, Heritage clubs are located in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The company continues to grow by acquiring a mix of private country clubs in residential communities, member-owned clubs with growth potential seeking strategic alternatives, and premium daily-fee and resort golf properties in major resort destinations and metropolitan markets.
