Clifton, NJ, — The Ladies Professional Golf Association’s (LPGA) Cognizant Founders Cup (www.thefounderslpga.com) and All City Leasing & Warehousing, Inc., the Total Transportation Experts based in Jersey City, NJ, are teaming-up to host Hometown Heroes Day on Friday, May 13th. As part of honoring hometown heroes, spectators attending the Friday round at historic Upper Montclair Country Club, in Clifton, NJ,
are asked to wear red to honor military, police and first responders.
In addition, and as part of the partnership, the LPGA, All City, the Alan H. Antonucci Foundation LTD., and the Tunnels to Towers Charity will be recognizing hometown heroes throughout Cognizant Founders Cup tournament week, from May 11th through the 15th. As part of the week-long celebration, the LPGA will honor four families through the Tunnels to Towers Charity and invite them to sit in the tournament’s “Perch” viewing area. One family per day will sit on the Perch for an hour during competition rounds to get a unique view of professional golf. They will also receive access to clubhouse hospitality for the day and be featured on the tournament’s digital scoreboard.
The 2022 Cognizant Founders Cup features golf’s best professional players who will visit Northern NJ for a second straight year to compete in the prestigious spring event that honors the LPGA’s 13 Founding Members and drives a mission to engage, empower, and support girls and women. The event offers a $3 million purse, which is the largest of any LPGA Tour event outside of the majors and the CME Group Tour Championship. The 144-player field is expected to be filled with the Tour’s most talented and accomplished players of today along with 2 special exemptions to be named at a later date. Tickets for 2022 Cognizant Founders Cup are available at www.thefounderslpga.com, including general admission tickets, providing access to the tournament grounds any day Wednesday through Sunday are $40, and weekly 5-day pass available for $125. Veterans, first responders, active military and Juniors 17 and under receive free general admission. Hospitality packages begin at $150 per day, which includes access to the Drive On Pavilion on the 9th Green, a parking pass, continental breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, water, coffee, soft drinks, beer and wine. Additional hospitality packages are available for individuals and corporations seeking a more intimate experience.
Upper Montclair Country Club is one of only a few country clubs worldwide known to have hosted tournaments for all three professional golf tours, including the LPGA in 1979 & 1980, 1983 & 1984, and 2007-2009. Long considered one of NJ’s premier golf clubs, this legendary A.W. Tillinghast golf course design underwent a major renovation in the 1950s, directed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., transforming Upper Montclair Country Club into its present 27-hole Championship layout.
