Vallejo, Calif. – Hiddenbrooke Golf Club in Vallejo, Calif. recently welcomed Chris Johnson as its new General Manager. Johnson will oversee golf operations, agronomy, sales and marketing, food & beverage and facility maintenance operations for the 18-hole daily-fee facility located in the rolling hills of the East Bay and just minutes from Napa Valley and wine country.
Johnson has 25-plus years of golf industry experience. A Bay Area native, he is excited to return to the area where his career in golf began. After graduating from California State University – Sacramento with a degree in interior architecture, Johnson’s first jobs in golf came at Blackhawk Country Club in Danville, Calif. and Round Hill Country Club in Alamo, Calif. In 2003 he moved to Scottsdale, Ariz. to be the tournament director at TPC Scottsdale. During his time in Arizona, he held the positions of head golf professional at SunRidge Canyon Golf Club in Fountain Hills, director of golf at Orange Tree Golf Resort in Scottsdale and general manager of StoneRidge Golf Club in Prescott Valley. Johnson most recently served as general manager of McDowell Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale.

A Class A Member of the PGA of America since 2003, Johnson holds advanced PGA certifications in general management, golf operations and golf instruction. Johnson is married to his wife of 19 years, Lisa, and they have two children, a 15-year-old daughter, who is an avid dancer and an 18-year-old son, who is a member of the University of Utah’s men’s golf team.
Hiddenbrooke Golf Club originally opened in 1995 and features an Arnold Palmer Signature golf course. The 6,782-yard, par 72 layout has been recognized by Golf World and Golf Digest as one of the best public courses in California.
