High-quality offerings continue to rise on Kaua‘i
(KAUA‘I, Hawai‘i) – Numerous data points show that as players improve, they play more golf. From this, Kaua‘i’s award-winning Hōkūala Golf Adventures is pleased to announce an expanded fall lineup of clinics, lessons and interactive experiences for kamaʻāina, members and guests.
“Golf in the islands should always be fun,” said Kellie Hines, PGA Director of Instruction. “We incorporate this outlook into each clinic, lesson and event that we host, and celebrate learning from one other in a caring and supportive environment. We love helping people improve their skills and enjoyment for the game!”
Golf Clinics
Led by Hines, who was the first woman to serve on the Aloha Section PGA Board of Directors, as well as assistant golf professionals Cort Walter and Juan Gonzalez, Hōkūala Golf Adventures integrates decades of experience and enthusiasm while teaching the full swing, short game and course management. Clinics are offered each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 – 10 a.m. The cost is $55 per session and includes Callaway rental clubs.
Private Lessons
Tailored to each player, one-on-one swing lessons offer fun, personalized avenues to improve your game.
FIT Golf
Professional athletes know that strength and fitness are increasingly linked to success. While recreational players may not train like elite athletes, adding golf-specific workouts and drills into daily routines can dramatically improve their games. With ten years of experience in teaching health, fitness, and golf, Gonzalez’s holistic approach to “FIT Golf” centers on power, tempo and breath. Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 – 8:45 a.m., learn precise stretches and exercises that can take your game and fitness levels to the next level, all for just $20 per session.
The First Tee
The First Tee fosters life and leadership skills through junior golf. As an officially accredited facility, Hōkūala’s Walter and Gonzalez have undergone training in youth development to become First Tee Level 1 certified. Keiki are always welcome at Hōkūala to develop their skills in a fun, laid-back environment.
Operations36
Building off Hōkūala’s success this summer of finishing in the top-three courses worldwide in the instructional program Operation 36 (“Ops36”), Hines’ team will again offer six-week sessions that combine clinics, short and long-game practices and nine-hole outings. Hōkūala’s golf professionals pair fun swing and course management tips with technology to teach keiki and adults of all skill levels.
Sunset Holoholo
Launching in October, Hōkūala’s Sunset Holoholo tours will be offered every Thursday and Friday, starting at 3:30 p.m. and lasting two hours. The golf cart tour offers a cultural exploration of the 450-acre property. Highlights include the Ha‘upu Mountain Range, Farm at Hōkūala, enchanted forest of mango groves and dramatic seaside cliffs. Guests will form a strong bond with Kaua‘i’s local culture and ecosystem. The Sunset Holoholo will complement Hōkūala’s popular Hua Aloha Sunrise Tour, which is held every Tuesday.
“For guests who partake in our Sunset Holololo Tour in the beginning of their Kaua‘i journey, we hope that it will enhance everything else that they do while on island,” said Tom Freestone, PGA Director of Golf. “Having a deeper connection to Kaua‘i will lead to a much more fulfilling experience while visiting.”
