Durham’s 95-Year-Old Country Club Annouces Enhancements to Clubhouse, Banquet and Dining Facilities and Appoints New Executive Chef and Catering & Events Sales Director
DURHAM, NC – Durham’s member-owned private golf club, Hope Valley Country Club is excited to announce more than $1.5 million in renovations to the nearly 100-year-old clubhouse, including a revamped dining facility, refreshed banquet rooms, and enhancements to the entry hallways, restrooms, and meeting rooms. Renovations are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2020.
The highlight of the renovations will be the transformed Dover Dining Room, which will serve as a modern upscale restaurant. The restaurant is centrally located in the clubhouse to maximize camaraderie among members and give diners spanning views of the surrounding golf course and the two swimming pools. The Dover will have both communal spaces as well as private dining tables and cozy booths for those looking for a more intimate dining experience. The centrally located bar will also provide views of the golf course. A large communal table will serve as the ideal location for patrons to make memories with groups of friends and family.
Along with the refreshed dining facility, Hope Valley Country Club is excited to welcome Chef Albert Rosa as the new Executive Chef. Chef Albert comes to Hope Valley from Naples, Florida, where he developed his trademark haute- cuisine style and worked for multiple private country clubs. Chef Albert began his culinary career at the age of 18 working for The Pepper Mill Restaurant. At the age of 28, he enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America. Following graduation, he trained under Executive Chef Christian Rassinoux at the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel where he studied the craft of both French and American cuisine. Chef Albert looks forward to sharing his creativity and innate understanding of fresh seafood and quality produce with diners at the Dover Room.
Additionally, Hope Valley Country Club has appointed Travis Dickerson as the Catering & Event Sales Director. Dickerson is a graduate from Chowan University, where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice before moving on to work for Marine Corps Community Services, aborad Camp Lejeune. Dickerson held this position for 15 years serving the Marines, Sailors, and their family members. In this position, he focused on the success of the restaurant and bar operations, catering sales, and event management. Dickerson is honored to join the staff at Hope Valley Country Club and looks forward to providing quality service to all members.
“We are excited to welcome Chef Albert and Travis Dickerson to Hope Valley Country Club,” said General Manager Chad Pisaneschi. “In addition to the renovations to our picturesque dining facility and clubhouse, the appointment of a Catering & Event Sales Director, and Chef Albert’s expertise and focus on seasonal ingredients will ensure that our members have an unforgettable experience in The Dover Room.”
The renovations to the dining space and the addition of Chef Albert are the focal part of the $1.5 million renovation to Hope Valley Country Club. Additional enhancements will include fully renovated restrooms in the upstairs clubhouse, as well as a refreshed private event space and common area upgrades.
“The renovations at Hope Valley Country Club demonstrate the members’ commitment to continuing to be the premier golf and lifestyle club in Durham,” said Steve Willy, Co-Founder of Bobby Jones Links. “We look forward to completing the renovations and continuing to enhance the membership experience at the club.”
