International Women’s Day Momentum Highlights Opportunity for Golf Facilities to Host Women’s Golf Day Events

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Following the global celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, golf facilities around the world are being encouraged to turn awareness into action by registering to host an event for Women’s Golf Day, May 26- June 2, 2026 — a global initiative designed to welcome more women and girls into the sport.

Women are one of the fastest-growing segments in golf. In the United States, approximately eight million women play golf, representing 28% of all on-course golfers, the highest level ever recorded. Since 2019, female participation has grown by roughly 2.5 million players, accounting for around 60% of the net growth in the game according to the National Golf Foundation.

This momentum mirrors the broader message of International Women’s Day — expanding opportunities and creating inclusive environments where women can participate, connect and thrive.

“International Women’s Day reminds us how important it is to create opportunities for women in every industry”, said Elisa Gaudet, Founder of Women’s Golf Day.  “Women’s Golf Day gives golf facilities a simple, proven way to welcome more women into the game while building community, revenue for the club and growing participation. It gives the golf facilities a blueprint for what we know works for women and puts the power into their hands to benefit their club.”

Since its launch in 2016, Women’s Golf Day has grown into a worldwide movement with events hosted at more than 1,350 locations across over 85 countries. Each event follows a four-hour format that combines instruction, play and social engagement, making it an ideal introduction for beginners while also celebrating experienced players.

For facilities, hosting an event offers significant benefits, including:

  • Turnkey event materials, vendor kit and marketing kit
  • Digital activation and their own dedicated location page on the WGD website and social outlets
  • Growing participation
  • Reaching new audiences
  • Strengthening golf and facility community
  • Be part of a Global Event movement

Golf courses, driving ranges and golf clubs worldwide are invited to register their venues and join a global community dedicated to growing the game for women and girls.

Facilities can learn more and register to host a Women’s Golf Day event by visiting the official Women’s Golf Day website.
