Garrett Hall, Outreach Coordinator and a Golf Instructor at Keiser University Golf Coaching Center, shows you how to regrip your golf club.
Step-by-Step Guide to Regripping Your Golf Club:
Measure and Apply Tape:
- Take the new grip and measure how far down the tape should go to avoid overlapping on the shaft.
- Mark the spot and apply the tape, ensuring it’s smooth and flat.
- Roll one side of the tape over, ensuring the bottom piece is flat, then roll the other side.
- Pinch the ends in, twist, and push the button of the tape in.
Apply Grip Solvent:
- Use a generous amount of grip solvent to ensure the grip slides on easily.
- Wet the grip tape with the solvent.
- Cover the butt of the grip with your finger to prevent solvent from falling out.
- Shake the grip to distribute the solvent inside and then pour it over the tape.
Attach the Grip:
- Slide the grip onto the shaft all the way, ensuring it’s properly aligned.
- Tap the grip on the ground a couple of times to ensure it’s fully set.
Now, your golf club is regripped and ready for play. Enjoy your game!
