Brian Hughes, Program Director and PGA Master Professional at Keiser University’s College of Golf, shares essential tips on warming up properly for a successful round of golf. In this video, Brian explains the difference between warming up and practicing, emphasizing that warm-up time isn’t for experimenting or trying new techniques. Instead, warming up is about preparing the body and establishing consistency.
He recommends starting with light stretching to loosen key areas like the back, shoulders, wrists, and knees. When hitting balls, Brian suggests beginning with a shorter club like a wedge, focusing on full, slow swings to find the ground and the center of the clubface. Gradually increase swing speed and length, saving the driver for the last few swings. This approach helps ensure that you’re ready to play confidently by the time you reach the first tee.
