Summit Golf Brands and PGA Magazine Host Inaugural Big Apple Summit
Last week, Summit Golf Brands, in conjunction with PGA Magazine and Great Golf Resorts of the World, hosted the inaugural Big Apple Summit at the company’s new showroom in New York City, overlooking Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. The conference brought together leading Directors of Retail from the nation’s top resorts to discuss industry trends and best practices. The resorts in attendance included: Pinehurst Resort, Streamsong Resort, Destination Kohler, Trump Properties, Sea Pines Resort, Erin Hills and Sand Valley Resort. Key topics discussed included inventory management, staffing, corporate opportunities, and growth plans. Many of the attendees had never met prior to the conference and plan to stay in touch to continue idea sharing for their respective properties.
Chad Delp, the President and CEO of Summit Golf Brands said of the event, “We are extremely pleased with the success of the first ever Big Apple Summit. Given our singular focus on the green grass channel, we want to spend as much time as possible learning about how we can best support our customers. Our partners at PGA Magazine have always been terrific in creating forums for idea sharing among the leaders of golf retail and the Big Apple Summit was no exception.”
Over the course of two days, Summit Golf Brands’ design team showcased their Spring 2019 assortments with presentations by Billy Draddy (Creative Director), Kristen Murray (Design Director for Fairway & Greene and Zero Restriction Ladies) and Kris Wortman (VP of Merchandising and Design with EP NY). In addition to full day meetings, the group also got a taste of New York City with a rooftop cocktail party and dinner at one of Manhattan’s hottest restaurants. The conference also allowed Summit Golf Brands to show attendees their new office space which the company moved into in September of 2018. The space includes a vast showroom overlooking Fifth Avenue and features versatile fixtures which allows for dynamic product displays across brands.
