Alison Eastwood Hosts Fund Raiser to Benefit Animal Welfare and Rescue
Thousand Oaks, Calif.– Animal-rescue advocate Alison Eastwood will host the inaugural Eastwood Ranch Foundation (ERF) Charity Golf Invitational at the Sherwood Country Club on September 14, benefitting animal welfare and rescue. Registration information for the event is now available at www.eastwoodranch.org/erf-golf-tournament-2020.
Besides acting and directing, Eastwood’s passion is animal welfare and rescue. Through the Eastwood Ranch Foundation domestic animals are rescued from high-kill shelters around the Los Angeles community and provided with care until a forever home is found. In addition to local animal rescue, ERF works on behalf of any and all animal welfare causes by helping raise awareness while educating and campaigning/petitioning for animals.
This is the first time the non-profit organization has used golf as a fundraising vehicle.
“From my life-long exposure to golf and tournaments of the highest level, I realize how passionate and generous golfers can be,” said Eastwood, who founded ERF in 2012. “With Sherwood as the venue and animal welfare as the cause, I am hopeful that the support of the golf and Hollywood communities will raise the much-needed funding to rescue helpless animals that otherwise would be euthanized.”
The schedule of events includes lunch, followed by golf, awards reception, and auction. It is expected that numerous celebrities from television, movies and the world of golf will support this inaugural event. The cost per foursome is $4,800 ($1,200 per individual) and additional sponsorship and donation opportunities are available.
Sherwood Country Club is a private, member-owned golf and country club in Lake Sherwood, California—at the base of the Santa Monica Mountains just south of the city of Thousand Oaks—that feature a championship 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, driving range, and Georgian-style clubhouse. Sherwood has hosted Greg Norman’s Shark Shootout, the World Challenge hosted by Tiger Woods and the Showdown at Sherwood, the first-ever prime-time live golf match, played between Tiger Woods and David Duval.
