INDIAN WELLS, CA. – Invited, the worldwide leader in private clubs, was pleased to host some of the greatest athletes from across the world of professional sports this past week at Indian Wells Country Club as part of THE PRO Tour. A new golf tour featuring a mixture of retired professional athletes, former Major League Baseball pitcher Tyler Clippard captured the tournament title with a thrilling playoff victory.
“Indian Wells Country Club was an incredible venue with so much history behind it,” said Baseball Hall of Famer John Smoltz, the commissioner of THE PRO. “The course was in phenomenal condition, and the membership and staff went above and beyond despite some challenging weather. From our tour’s perspective, everything was first-class. The players loved the experience and we’re already looking forward to coming back.”
Clippard outlasted the field, prevailing in a three-hole playoff against former NHL great Joe Pavelski to capture his second straight win on THE PRO’s season-long tour. Competing in a modified Stableford scoring format, Clippard birdied the par five 18th hole while Pavelski bogeyed to force extra holes.

On the third playoff hole, Pavelski pushed his approach shot into flower bed, resulting in an unplayable lie, while Clippard two-putted to seal the victory.
Indian Wells is no stranger to the blending of championship golf and celebrity stardom, having hosted the PGA TOUR’s Bob Hope Desert Classic for nearly 50 years. The iconic stop on the tour hosted the game’s best players, helping to establish the club as a premier destination for golf enthusiasts.
The club also served as a playground for celebrities, featuring several prominent members including Desi Arnez, Lawrence Welk and Hope. Today, Indian Wells is revered as one of the most iconic clubs in the U.S., featuring two championship-level 18-hole courses with a commitment to providing exceptional experiences for members and guests.
“Having THE PRO at Indian Wells was more than an event, it was an experience our members will remember,” said Dennis Coker, general manager of Indian Wells. “Seeing elite players compete on our course reinforces the legacy of the Club and the continued investment we are making in delivering exceptional golf and hospitality. We’re grateful for the partnership and proud of the way our team executed at every level.”
