ING Celebrates 25th Anniversary Of Media Awards With New Category
LAKE MARY, FL (August 24, 2018) – The International Network of Golf celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the ING Media Awards this year with a new category and an entry deadline of October 11.
The newest category is the ING Internet Video Media Award category. This category rewards excellence in Internet Videos in which golf is the main activity depicted or discussed. Videos must be at least 3 minutes and no longer than 10 minutes in length. Videos must be content-driven, and must have appeared on a recognized Internet site or channel. Marketing Videos are not acceptable for this category.
All entries into the 25th Annual ING Media Awards must be postmarked by October 11 in order to be eligible for this year’s contest.
The non-profit International Network of Golf conducts the contest, recognizing the best and brightest among its media members. You can join ING and become eligible for the contest by visiting www.inggolf.com and click on Membership.
Anyone who joins before this Media Awards deadline will be eligible for this year and next year’s media awards program. There is also an option of joining at a discount just for the remainder of this year for eligibility in this year’s awards program.
Of the categories in the ING Media Awards, eight are for writers, including Feature Writing. That category is for stories that do not fit into any of the remaining writing categories: Travel Writing, Business Writing, Opinions/Editorials, Profile Writing, Equipment/Apparel Writing, Competition Coverage, and Books.
Other categories include, Excellence in Publications, TV Shows, Radio/Podcast (two categories) and the new Internet Video category.
Judging is done by a panel of three independent experts in each category. Judges are selected by Individual Category Chairs. Where possible, by-lines and publication names are stripped from the articles before they are sent to the judges.
Winners will be announced and honored at the ING Media Awards Presentation Press Conference in January at the PGA Merchandise Show.
Rules, regulations, category descriptions, entry forms and past winners can be found under Awards on the www.inggolf.com site.
ING is the golf industry’s only media-based networking organization. “ING is where media and the golf industry connect.”
The 29th Annual ING Spring Conference is scheduled for May 19-23 2019 at the Chateau Elan Hotel & Conference Center in Sebring, FL.
Anyone in the media or golf industry is invited to join. For more information, call 407-328-0500, or visit www.inggolf.com.
