The 36-year-old relied on the exceptional feel and stability of the popular SuperStroke model to capture his 3rd PGA TOUR title in his last 28 starts, moving up to No. 7 in the FedExCup standings and No. 22 in the world ranking. Two shots behind with six holes to play, Kokrak holed four consecutive birdie putts on Nos. 13-16. A 25-foot birdie putt on the toughest hole at Memorial Park, the 14th, brought Kokrak to one shot off the lead.
Kokrak’s drastic improvement with his putter kept him in contention, even after a falling to nine strokes off the lead after the second round. He holed five putts longer than 20 feet to gain more than eight strokes on the greens. Last season, Kokrak was sixth in Strokes Gained: Putting after ranking outside the top 100 in that stat in each of the previous six seasons.
