PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Ever since the Traveling Golfer television show made its debut in February of 2013, it has seen a steady history of growth. From a small platform of websites … to its launch on network television … to expansion on network platforms across the country and around the world.
Throughout the rigors of expansion, pandemic and the changing atmosphere in the golf industry, the quality of the show has never varied. In each of its eight years of eligibility, the Traveling Golfer has won national awards for excellence in golf television. In four of those years it received the award as the No. 1 golf television show in America, as judged by the International Network of Golf at the annual PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.
Now, as the 10th anniversary of the show approaches, it is poised to make its biggest advancement to date.
Tony Leodora, Traveling Golfer founder and show host, has entered into a partnership that will add immediate energy to continued expansion. Jeff Gilder, an industry veteran in digital media, communications and marketing, has joined the show as a managing partner. His company, Zeus Digital Marketing, is based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and has been an industry leader since 2006.
In addition, Jeff’s son, Dustin Gilder, has increased his role with the Traveling Golfer team. Dustin has been producing many episodes of the show in recent years. His creative genius has been recognized by the clients and viewers. Now he takes over as Executive Producer and will handle a vast majority of production duties for the show, moving forward.
“This new partnership was made in heaven” commented Leodora. “I have known Jeff for many years. We have worked together as members of the International Network of Golf and on its Advisory Board. We have a very similar view of how to bring our viewers to the world’s most amazing golf destinations, through the magic of television.
“In the case of Dustin Gilder, our association in the production of many episodes in recent years has been ideal,” continued Leodora. “He is a hard-working, fast and extremely creative producer. His shows burst onto the screen. And the best part about him … he doesn’t know the meaning of the word No.”
In addition to taking over the marketing of the show—a new website is under development — Jeff Gilder will oversee all administrative duties, including all financial details with sponsors and clients. He also is moving forward with the schedule of new shows for 2023.
“This is a very exciting time for our company,” said Jeff Gilder. “To become involved with the No. 1 golf television show in America is a dream come true. Our main goal is its continued growth and development. It already is the favorite show of avid golfers across the country. We want to make it even more of a favorite – if that is possible.”
The Traveling Golfer television show will continue to maintain the same schedule that has made it so popular in recent years.
Monthly episodes of the Traveling Golfer air as a scheduled weekly feature show on NBC Sports and NBC Sports + throughout four markets in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. NBC Sports airings are 10:30 a.m. on Sundays, 10 p.m. on Tuesdays and 11 a.m. on Thursdays. NBC Sports + airs the show at 8 p.m. Mondays and Fridays. Responding to golfers’ never-ending demands to learn more about interesting golf courses and golf resorts across the country and around the world, well-traveled host Tony Leodora and new partner Jeff Gilder have positioned the Traveling Golfer so it can take viewers on video trips to some of the most exciting golf locations. Leodora has more than 20 years of experience in televised golf.
