Jerry Kelly kicks off the year with a T-3 finish at the opening PGA Tour Champions tournament in Hawaii
(Jacksonville, FL) – Jerry Kelly got his 2019 season off to a fantastic start with a T-3 finish at this year’s Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai. Finishing at -14 for the tournament, Kelly led the field in three putt avoidance managing to not have one at all this event. His week seemed to be highlighted by a long eagle putt after an amazing bounce off the lava on the par-5 7th hole. The PGA Tour Champions moves to Boca Raton and the Oasis Championship where Kelly will look to capture an early season victory again this year.
Each week Cure Putters continues to contend on all Major Tours. Kelly has been in the putter since 2017 when he captured the PGA Tour Champions Rookie of the Year honors. “I’m very excited about 2019. If I can stay healthy there is no reason I can’t win the Schwab Cup. I’m continuing to make a lot of birdies, great par saves. My lava assisted eagle was awesome!”
“Another PGA Tour Champions season and another top 5 for Jerry Kelly, the guy is a machine. We’re thrilled Jerry kicked his season off contending for a victory and will be pulling for him to achieve his goal of being Schwab Cup Champion.” said Jim McCarthy, CEO of Cure Putters. “We know how close he came last year and don’t see any reason he can’t dominate this season on tour.”
