PGA Tour Winner Jim Herman to Address GCAA National Convention
PGA Tour winner Jim Herman will address the GCAA National Convention on Tuesday, December 4 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
Herman played collegiately at Cincinnati and turned professional in 2000. He played the Golden Bear Tour from 2001-04. Herman then served as an assistant professional at PGA Golf Club and Trump National Bedminster before qualifying for the Nationwide Tour (now Web.com Tour) in 2007. He maintained Nationwide status from 2008-10. Herman qualified for the PGA Tour in 2011 after finishing 19th on the Nationwide Tour money list and winning he Moonah Classic in 2010.
In 2011, he finished 178th in FedEx points and dropped back to the Web.com Tour for 2012. That season he again qualified for the PGA Tour in 2013. In 2013 Herman ranked 139th on the PGA Tour but finished 19th in the Web.com Finals and in 2014 finished 182nd on the PGA Tour but seventh in Web.com finals. He finished 2015 74th in the FedEx Cup, thus avoiding Web.com Finals
Herman recorded his first PGA Tour victory at the 2016 Shell Houston Open, his 106th start. Later that year he posted his best finish in a major championship, T43 at The Open Championship. Herman finished 42nd in the FedEx Cup that season and followed up with 91st showing in 2017.
Herman has played in eight major championships – one Masters, four US Opens, One Open Championship and two PGA Championships.
