HARTFORD  – SwingU, the golf technology and media company, would like to congratulate SwingU Master Faculty member Jim McLean for being recognized by the PGA of America as the 2020 National PGA Professional Development Award recipient.

Prior to receiving the honor, Jim has routinely been recognized as one of the top instructors in golf. A perennial Golf Magazine Top-100 and Golf Digest Top-50 Teacher in America, Jim has been inducted into six Halls of Fame, including induction into the World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame in 2018.

The PGA Professional Development Award bestows special recognition on a PGA Golf Professional who personally displays a strong desire for lifelong education to include outstanding and continuing contributions to professional education.

As a testament to Jim’s legacy, 260 Jim McLean Golf School-certified teachers are Directors of Golf or Directors of Instruction at top private clubs in America. There have been 13 JMGS teachers named to the Top-100 Teachers in America list and 75 have been named Best in State. There are 8 JMGS locations internationally with the headquarters located at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Fla.

Jim was recognized on Tuesday, Nov.  2, at the PGA Annual Meeting along with the other 2020 PGA of America Award recipients at a special awards ceremony attended by the friends, family and colleagues of the honorees.

The ceremony, which was delayed a year due to the pandemic, served as a kick-off of the 105th PGA Annual Meeting at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, Nov. 2-5.

Through his Jim McLean Golf School app, built in partnership with SwingU Academies, Jim provides students with an engaging, academy-like experience, including a content forum where both students and Jim share video, stories and interact on everything in golf; a student swing locker for filming & saving swings; a VOD library of drills & lessons; and 1-on-1 streamlined personal communication and lesson booking directly from the app.
