Short Par 4 Staffer John Chin Captures his PGA TOUR Card at Web.com Tour Winco Foods Portland Open

It has been a lifelong dream for Chin to be on the PGA TOUR. He joined the Web.com Tour in 2011 and has been working years to graduate to the PGA TOUR. This week, Chin began the week ranked 41st – well outside of the 25-spots available during the regular Web.com season. He needed some impressive play and low scores to make the projected cut at and that he did. Chin shot a 31 on the back nine and finished 18 with a birdie, a bogey would have jeopardized his chance. After the last putt dropped, he did too.
Chin finished second at the Web.com Winco Foods Portland Open presented by Kraft-Heinz which catapulted him to 10th place in the ranking and locked in his FIRST 2018-2019 PGA TOUR membership card. There are 25 other PGA TOUR membership cards which will be awarded during the Web.com Tour Finals. Fellow Short Par 4 team member, Kevin Dougherty, ranked 26th will have another chance to gain his card through the Web.com Tour Finals.
