JUPITER, FL – JumboMax® Grips announced today that Team Member, Bryson DeChambeau, captured his eight PGA TOUR victory, and ninth of his professional career, at the Arnold Palmer Invitational held at Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, FL this past weekend.
DeChambeau received a special text message Sunday morning from Tiger Woods telling him to keep fighting, good advice for a final round that turned out to be the toughest at Bay Hill in 41 years.
“When I got that text, I’m like, wow, that’s pretty amazing that he is thinking of me when he’s in his tough times that he’s going through right now,” said DeChambeau.
Inspiration from Arnold Palmer is everywhere you look at Bay Hill, and DeChambeau was particularly drawn to the King’s motto to “play boldly”.
“It’s amazing to win Mr. Palmer’s tournament – it’s going to make me cry,” DeChambeau said. “He’s had an influence on me for the longest time and will continue to do so for the rest of my life.”
On Saturday and Sunday, DeChambeau revved up thousands of fans on the 6th Hole by smashing driver over the lake, 370 and 377 yards respectively, and leaving himself a short wedge shot into the green on the Par 5 565-yard hole. He ranked 1st in Strokes Gained Off the Tee (7.042), 1st in Strokes Gained Total (15.193), 1st in Driving Distance (321.3 yards) including a Long Drive on Sunday of 377 yards and 3rd for Greens in Regulation (69.44%).
He became the first player of the 2021 season to capture multiple wins following his U.S. Open victory at Winged Foot in September.
This latest victory earned him a paycheck for $1.674 million dollars and 550 FedEx Cup Points. He is once again ranked 1st on the FedEx Cup Points List and 6th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
DeChambeau has been playing JumboMax Grips for over 11 years now and currently plays with the new JMX UltraLite Grips that he personally helped develop.
