FRISCO, TEXAS   – Junior golfers and their families from across Texas gathered Saturday around the Home of the PGA of America in Frisco, Texas, for Junior Golf Day during the third round of the 2025 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at PGA Frisco.

More than 200 youth aged 15 and younger participated in putting contests, games, friendship bracelet making and even wrote letters to their favorite golfers. Additionally, they received instruction from PGA of America and LPGA Golf Professionals and photo opportunities with the Championship trophy alongside PGA of America leaders to help celebrate and cultivate a love for golf.

Entering the Championship gates, youth also received a memorabilia ticket and then gathered on the range and Ronny Golf Park of the Northern Texas PGA Section to take part in the festivities before watching Major Championship golf.

“It’s great to see so many kids of all ages and the smiles on their faces here at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship,” said PGA of America President and Master Professional Don Rea Jr., PGA Owner/Operator of Augusta Ranch Golf Club (Arizona). “Junior golf is one of the most important impacts we have in the game and today just shows how golf is so inclusive with the different age groups, boys and girls with their parents, grandmas and grandpas. It’s special.”

Many Junior Golf Day participants arrived in their PGA Jr. League jerseys, ready to watch their favorite golfers. PGA Jr. League brings families and friends together around fun, team golf experiences for kids ages 17 and under, with expert PGA of America and LPGA coaching. In 2024, more than 77,000 participated in the program around the country.

Families attending Junior Golf Day also get to enjoy the Championship from a special viewing area located behind the 9th green, allowing youth to watch some of their favorite golfers and the best woman golfers in the world up close at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco.

As part of Junior Golf Day, a Women in Golf Panel was also available for local girl high school golfers to seek advice and learn about career opportunities from golf industry professionals.

Led by PGA of America Brand & Member Marketing Lead Kate Drimel, PGA, participants heard from PGA of America Player Engagement Consultant Ginger Brown Lemm, PGA; 2026 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Director Laura Frick, PGA; LPGA Senior Manager, Memberships, Amateurs Holly Nemerofsky; and Abby Parsons, PGA, Head Golf Professional at Pinnacle Peak Country Club (Arizona).

“You want them to be passionate about something that they love rather than passionate about something that they feel like they’re supposed to be doing,” said Parsons. “You learn so many life lessons in golf, especially as a junior golfer. Integrity, responsibility, time management, all of those things are huge life lessons at such a young age that are really beneficial.”
