(RIDGEFIELD, Conn.) – Junior Golf Hub (JGH), the leading platform for junior golfers, their families, and college coaches, is proud to unveil the latest iteration of the Junior Golf Hub Rankings. This enhancement underscores our commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and the growth of the junior golf community while ensuring that rankings reflect both performance and potential.
Developed through extensive feedback from players, coaches, academies, and leaders in the junior golf world, this update represents a pivotal step in our iterative process. “We’ve always seen the rankings as belonging to the community,” said JGH Founder, Roger Knick, “and this latest update is a direct result of listening to what our community believes is right and fair.”
Key Enhancements
- Inclusive Mission: JGH remains committed to highlighting players from diverse backgrounds and levels, including events often overlooked by other rankings systems.
- Early Player Recognition: Younger players are given opportunities to shine, showcasing their development and stories to inspire the community and coaches alike.
- Revised Criteria for Movement: To rise through the rankings, players must now:
- Compete in 3 events featuring 18-hole rounds
- Play at least 10 rounds in a 1-year period
- Quality Control Standards: While nine-hole events introduce junior players to competitive golf, rankings now set a ceiling for players who primarily compete in these events until they expand to more challenging formats.
- One-Year Rolling Cycle: Rankings are now based on recent performances over a one-year period, balancing current results with a player’s overall development trajectory.
- Expanded Event Histories: Player profiles will continue to display event histories as far back as JGH holds data, providing a comprehensive view of development and progress.
A Community-Centric Approach
This enhancement solidifies JGH’s role as a steward for the junior golf community. By including a wider range of events and maintaining transparency in methodology, JGH ensures all players feel seen and valued. Bonus points for participation and consistent performance further incentivize players to develop their game.
“Our mission is unchanged: we’re here for the community,” said Knick. “This update allows us to better serve families, coaches, and aspiring collegiate golfers, offering a ranking system that is both fair and aspirational.”
