Scottsdale, Ariz. – Kapolei Golf Club in Kapolei, Hawaii on the island of Oahu, is pleased to welcome Jim Swieter as the club’s new general manager. As general manager, Swieter will oversee golf operations, agronomy, sales and marketing, food & beverage and facilities maintenance operations for the award-winning 18-hole daily-fee facility.
Swieter has 30-plus years of experience in business management, business operations and business development, including 23 years in the golf and hospitality industries. Prior to arriving at Kapolei Golf Club, Swieter served as general manager of Mid-Pacific Country Club in Kailua, Hawaii, also on Oahu. Throughout his career in the golf industry Swieter has managed private clubs in Hawaii, California and Texas. Apart from his golf pursuits, Swieter co-founded Zoom Sports, a comprehensive sports medicine business, in 2003 in Frisco, Texas.
“I’m excited to join an amazing organization like Troon and work with the outstanding team at Kapolei Golf Club,” said Swieter. “I’m committed to making Kapolei the ‘must play’ golf course on Oahu for visitors and the favorite golf course for locals to play.”
Originally from Iowa, Swieter has a degree in education from the University of Northern Iowa, where he was a member of the school’s wrestling team, and completed the Executive Business Management Program at the University of California Riverside. He is a current board member for the Hawaii State Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where he leads the organization’s development team.
