The Red Label found itself in the Winner’s bag at the Puerto Rico Open after a competitive final round! The player had KBS HI-Rev 2.0 125 shafts in his TaylorMade wedges. The 23-year-old rookie came into the event at the Grand Reserve golf club looking to make a name for himself on tour. He opened up his campaign on Thursday with a solid score of 65 and quickly followed the next day with a round of 67. Heading into the weekend the young KBS player was in a good position to win the event. Saturday, he shot a 66 to give himself a 1-stroke lead heading into the final day. The final round would be a make-or-break moment for the Tour rookie. Sunday, he got off to a solid start on the front nine with a stand out eagle on the sixth and another birdie on the 8th. He carded an impressive 31 on the front nine, but would need to continue to play aggressive due to his small lead. His opponent went on to birdie holes 10 through 15 to tie the 23-year-old KBS player for the lead. Luckily for the KBS player his opponent was a few holes ahead, which gave the 23-year-old time to regain his lead. He went on to make clutch birdies on holes 13, 14, and 15 to regain the lead. He stayed focused and drained a birdie on the final hole to claim his 1st Tour victory. Along with the victory the KBS player earned a Tour exemption until the end of 2027, plus entry into the 2025 Players and PGA Championship. The future is looking bright for the young rookie. He said, “Trying to soak it all in at the moment. I don’t know, just thinking ahead to next week already, Players, I’m getting ready for it. It’s been a bit busy, but I’m sure when I’m in my hotel room later I’ll be thinking about something”. A huge congratulations goes out the Winner and the rest of the KBS players in the field at the Puerto Rico Open!
