The Red Label found itself at the top of the leaderboard after an exciting final round! The winner had KBS $-Taper 130g shafts in his Callaway irons. Also, he had KBS Wedge shafts in his Callaway wedges. The player opened up his campaign with a score of 71 and improved the next day with a round of 68. Saturday, he shot a 71 which left him trailing the lead by 3 strokes going into Sunday. The young KBS player faced tough competition on the final round which included a 35- year-old Irish veteran who had a commanding lead. The Danish KBS player played a steady front nine, but was still trailing the lead by a few stokes. Nobody knew what was in store for the back nine, but they were about to be shocked. The Danish golfer went on to bridie 4 of the last five holes in an exciting fashion. He had back-to-back chip ins on the 16th and 17th holes. He would also go onto birdie the 18th to gain a 1-shot lead, but would now have to wait in the clubhouse for the final group to finish. In the final group his opponent watched his lead slip away on the leaderboard, but he still had a chance on the 18th hole to tie. Unfortunately for him, he barely missed his eagle putt on the right edge to force a playoff and would have to settle for 2nd place. The dominant 23-year-old KBS player would go on to claim the victory and add his 5th win on the DP World Tour. Congratulations go out to the Winner and all the players in the field at the Amgen Irish Open! | PLAYER DRIVEN. TOUR PROVEN. |
