Brad Turner, Director of Online Instruction for Keiser University College of Golf, shares information on an exciting new Associate Degree program in Turfgrass Management, set to commence in the fall of 2023.
As the golf industry witnesses rapid growth and an increasing demand for play, there’s a rising need for qualified individuals to manage and maintain golf facilities. The Turfgrass Management program is tailored to equip students with the necessary skills to assume leadership roles at golf facilities immediately after graduation. The curriculum will focus on four primary areas:
Turfgrass Management: This encompasses the growth and maintenance of grass.
Leadership and Communication: Essential skills as students climb the professional ladder.
Environmental Responsibilities: Emphasizing the role of golf courses in water conservation, responsible fertilizer use, and being good community stewards.
Business Acumen: As future head superintendents, students will be trained to manage substantial golf course budgets, which includes understanding financial reports.
