KemperSports-Managed Properties Named to Golfweek’s Best Casino Courses Ranking 

NORTHBROOK, Illinois, March 4, 2020 – Three KemperSports-managed properties have earned a spot among the top casino courses in the United States, according Golfweek’s annual list highlighting the top 50 courses in the category.

KemperSports-managed properties ranked on Golfweek’s list include:

• No. 31 – Seneca Hickory Stick Golf Course in Lewiston, New York
• No. 39 – Sequoyah National Golf Club in Whittier, North Carolina
• No. 40 – Thornberry Creek at Oneida (Champions Course), in Oneida, Wisconsin, which moved into the top 50 for the first time this year

The hundreds of members of Golfweek’s course-ratings panel continually evaluate courses and rate them based on their 10 criteria. Routing; quality of the shaping; the overall land plan; the greens and surrounds; the variety and memorability of par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s; the tree and landscape management; conditioning and ecology; and “walk in the park” test (i.e. the sense of the place as worthy of spending four hours on it) are all examined when a course is considered for the list. Those overall ratings on each course are averaged to produce a final rating for each course. Then each course is ranked against other courses in the region.
