NORTHBROOK, Ill., – KemperSports and its family of facilities nationwide recently surpassed the $2 million milestone in fundraising efforts for its longtime partner Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to the families of fallen or disabled military men and women and first responders. Since 2013, the leading sports, entertainment and hospitality company and its staff across the country have worked closely with the organization to host creative programming, events, fundraisers and friendly competitions to benefit Folds of Honor and its life-changing mission. Through the collective efforts of its staff, KemperSports has funded more than 400 Folds of Honor scholarships.
“The outstanding individuals who comprise KemperSports are always there when we need them the most,” said Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, founder and CEO of Folds of Honor. “When we expanded our mission in 2022 to include first responders, KemperSports was right there with us. The company’s heartfelt donation of over $2 million clearly demonstrates its commitment to providing a life-changing education to the families of America’s heroes. I can’t wait to see what the future holds as our two organizations continue to grow together.”
To further deepen its support of families of fallen or disabled U.S. Military Service Members and first responders, KemperSports also launched a new jobs program Memorial Day weekend 2022 that works to connect Folds of Honor scholarship recipients and military families with meaningful employment opportunities across the golf, hospitality, public relations, sports marketing and events industries. “Folds of Honor is an incredible organization doing life-changing work. Together with our teams from coast to coast, we’ve been a proud supporter of their mission of honoring the sacrifice of our country’s heroes and empowering their legacy through education for over a decade,” KemperSports Senior Vice President Mark Hoesing, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, said. “Not only do we look forward to continue growing our support of Folds of Honor in the years to come, but more importantly, we’re excited to help bridge the gap between education and employment by offering deserving scholarship recipients job opportunities across the growing KemperSports portfolio.”
As a result of this year’s fundraising efforts, Scott Bailey of the Governors Club (Brentwood, Tenn.) and Greg Roberts of Hawthorn Woods Country Club (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.) were selected from this year’s participating properties to represent KemperSports on a flight in a P-51 Mustang to take place during the Folds of Honor Cup on Nov. 9 in Orlando, Fla.
