KemperSports Selected to Manage Joliet Country Club
KemperSports to lead transition to semi-private status
KemperSports announced today that Joliet Country Club has selected KemperSports to manage the club – an institution in the suburban Chicago community since the early 1900’s. Located 45 miles southeast of downtown Chicago, Joliet Country Club has remained a staple in the region for more than 100 years.
KemperSports will work with the membership to transition the club to a semi-private golf club, allowing public play at the historic 18-hole, par-72 golf course for the first time. Joliet Country Club will be renamed Joliet Golf Club.
Originally built by renowned course architect Tom Bedelow in 1905, the course saw numerous renovations over the years, including Dick Nugent and Ken Killian (1969) and Dave Esler (2001).
“We are proud to partner with Joliet Golf Club as the historic club transitions in to the next era,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We believe that the members will enjoy an enhanced experience and we are excited to welcome golfers from throughout the Chicagoland area to enjoy Joliet Golf Club’s classic design.”
In addition to the historic golf course, Joliet Golf Club includes a 20-000 sq.,ft. clubhouse with private event space for more than 200 guests, multiple dining options and junior Olympic sized swimming pool. While now being open to the public, Joliet Golf Club will offer annual golf passes annual swimming pool usage as well as the opportunity for full member benefits at the club.
KemperSports now manages 13 properties in the state of Illinois.
