NORTHBROOK, Ill., – KemperSports, a leading golf, sports, entertainment and hospitality company, announced today a partnership with Morris County Park Commission (N.J.) to manage Berkshire Valley, Flanders Valley, Pinch Brook, and Sunset Valley – recognized as some of the finest public courses in the state.
“KemperSports has a track record of providing exceptional service and a best-in-class golf experience to their guests,” said Dave Helmer, Executive Director of Morris County Park Commission. “Their experience and innate knowledge of the Northeast golf market will be a tremendous benefit to golfers in Morris County and beyond.”
Berkshire Valley is located amid 600 acres in the Highlands region of Northern New Jersey. Opened in 2004 and designed by Roger Rulewich, the course ranked No. 17 on GolfPass’ 2024 Golfers’ Choice list of best courses in New Jersey.
Located in Flanders, N.J., approximately 40 miles west of Newark, Flanders Valley includes a pair of 18-hole championship golf courses. The Blue-to-White course (or “Inner 18” as it’s referred to by local golfers) is a picturesque traditional tree-lined countryside golf course while the Gold-to-Red (“outer 18”) plays along the outside of the property with more elevation changes and views of the surrounding countryside. The property recently received 4-stars on Golf Digest’s list of the “Best Places to Play.”
Pinch Brook Golf Course is an executive-length golf course created by the design team of Rees Jones when it opened in 1983. The par-62, 5,000-yard layout has water on most holes, including a lake on the seventh hole shaped to look like New Jersey.
The portfolio is rounded out by Sunset Valley Golf Course in Pompton Plains, N.J. The course was designed by Hal Purdy and opened in 1974. Sunset Valley is widely recognized as one of the best courses in the state and was recognized by Golf Digest on their list of the “Best Places to Play” and by Golf for Women Magazine with a “Top Women-Friendly Courses Award.”
“Morris County has a wonderful selection of outstanding golf courses,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We look forward to partnering with the County and community to elevate the experience at each of these clubs and continue to grow the game.”
KemperSports’ rapidly growing portfolio continues to thrive across the country with a strong presence in the New York and New Jersey markets. KemperSports now manages 16 golf courses, sports complexes, and athletic venues in New York and New Jersey, including partnerships with Union County (N.J.) and the New York Parks Department.
