Doug Friess Named General Manager
WOODRIDGE, Ill., — The Village of Woodridge has selected KemperSports, a leading golf, sports and hospitality experience company, to manage Village Greens of Woodridge. The partnership is focused on elevating the overall golf experience through exceptional customer service, enhanced course conditions and a renewed passion for serving the Woodridge community and surrounding region.
Under KemperSports’ management, Village Greens of Woodridge will benefit from the company’s proven operating standards, agronomic expertise, strategic marketing, event management capabilities and community-first approach. Enhancements will focus on day-to-day service touchpoints, thoughtful course conditioning and inclusive programming that welcomes golfers of all skill levels while strengthening the course’s role as a valued community asset.

As part of the new management agreement, KemperSports announced that KemperSports veteran Doug Friess will serve as General Manager of Village Greens of Woodridge. Friess joins the Woodridge team after eight years as general manager at Bolingbrook Golf Club where he helped deliver one of the region’s premier municipal golf experiences and oversaw two LIV Golf Chicago events.
“Doug’s leadership, operational expertise and understanding of the municipal golf landscape make him the ideal fit for Village Greens of Woodridge,” said Vince Juarez, KemperSports vice president of operations for the Midwest region. “His track record of elevating both the golfer experience and community engagement aligns perfectly with our goals for this property.”
Since opening in 1959, Village Greens of Woodridge has played a key role in the Southwest Chicago golf community. The par-72, 6,632-yard course is thoughtfully routed through the natural landscape and offers a full range of amenities, including practice facilities, pro shop, junior golf programming and the Bunkers Grill Room.
