Just as Golf and Blues Music was a match made in Mississippi.

Golf and Bourbon is a match made in Kentucky.

Grip It and Sip It in Kentucky

It has been in the minds of the founders of the Kentucky Golf Trail for many years and now it has come to fruition.  The brainchilds behind the trail are Randy Clay, owner of The Woodford Club and the clubs General Manager Bob Baldassari.  Bob is a seasoned member of the PGA involved with a number of golf tourism destinations along the east coast of the USA.

“We are extremely excited to get the Trail off the ground and have Kentucky’s golf gain the same recognition as it’s world renowned Bourbon” said Randy.  With Bob adding, “working with golf tour operators from around the world and providing their clients with the ultimate in golf, bourbon and don’t forget we are “the Horse Capitol of the World, too!”

The GOLF: is a collection of private, semi-private courses between Lexington and Louisville that are meticulously maintained, offering stunning landscapes, blended with signature southern hospitality.

The BOURBON: Your clients will be able to tour iconic distilleries, 60 in all on the world-renowned Kentucky Bourbon Trail.  Maker’s Mark, James Beam, Buffalo Trace and Heaven Hill, who’s Elijah Craig Brand is the Official Bourbon of the 2025 PGA Championship are just a few of the names that they will recognize.  They will enjoy exclusive tastings, and discover bourbon’s rich heritage.  In Kentucky Bourbon is more than a drink, it is a way of life!

The Horse Capitol of the World:  Your clients will have the opportunity to visit elite thoroughbred farms, meet past and future champions, and perhaps place a wager at legendary tracks like Keeneland in Lexington or Churchill Downs, the home of the Kentucky Derby in Louisville.

Lexington: in 2024 voted “Top 5 Best Small Cities in the U.S. by Conde Nast Traveler.  The city in the heart of the horse country, is a bourbon lovers paradise with 18 distilleries nearby and boasts such a diverse culinary scene that it can only be described as a feast for the senses.  Horse farms abound, your clients can visit Thoroughbred Farms and enjoy the pulse pounding hoofs at Keeneland Race Track.

Louisville: Home to the world’s only Urban Bourbon experience.  With its booming bourbon renaissance, iconic attractions, world-class hotels & venues and a renowned culinary scene, Louisville is an experience like no other city.  Main Street in the downtown, is dynamic with bars, restaurants and bourbon tasting.  Your clients may also enjoy Museum Row from history to Bourbon to modern art, there is something for everyone, the Frazier History Museum (home of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® Welcome Center), Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, and the Muhammad Ali Center.  Churchill Downs Racetrack, Home of the Kentucky Derby and “the most exciting 2 minutes in sports” is only minutes from the downtown area.

Kentucky Golf Trail is the ultimate trifecta Golf, Bourbon & Horses.
