Event Anchors Robust Season of Competitive Golf Tournaments on Full Cry at Keswick Club

(CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.) — Keswick Hall—the distinguished 600-acre luxury boutique resort in Virginia Wine Country—announces that its Pete Dye-designed Full Cry at Keswick Club golf course will serve as a local qualifying site for the 2026 U.S. Open Championship on May 12.

This event marks a continuation of Keswick Hall’s commitment to competitive golf, having previously served as a U.S. Open qualifying site in 2023, 2024 and 2025. The 18-hole qualifier represents the initial stage for players hoping to advance to the 126th U.S. Open Championship at Long Island’s Shinnecock Hill Golf Club from June 18-21. Eighty-four competitors will vie for the top five spots that advance to final qualifying.

“Our superb team is thrilled to once again welcome aspiring U.S. Open participants to our beautiful resort to test their mettle against our Pete Dye-designed championship golf course,” says Molly Hardie, owner of Keswick Hall. “It is a tremendous honor to serve as a proving ground for these dedicated players as they pursue their hopes of securing a spot at Shinnecock Hills.”

Full Cry underwent several enhancements in 2025 under the direction of Love Golf Design architect Scot Sherman, a longtime disciple of Dye. The updates refined and modernized Full Cry while preserving Dye’s original vision.

“When you are striving to compete at the highest level, you need a challenge that demands absolute precision and focus, which is exactly what Full Cry requires,” says Lauren Coughlin, the official touring pro of Keswick Hall, who will be competing in her third U.S. Women’s Open Championship in 2026. “The greens roll true at a consistent tour-level speed, and the routing forces you to think strategically on every single shot, so Full Cry is ideal to host the U.S. Open qualifying event.”

In addition to the U.S. Open qualifier, Full Cry at Keswick Club will host a full slate of prominent tournaments throughout the 2026 season. The competitive schedule at Keswick Hall includes:

Southern Amateur Qualifier (June 15)
Middle Atlantic PGA Senior Championship (August 24-25)
Senior Open of Virginia (September 29-30)
University of Virginia Women’s Collegiate Event (October 26-27)

Full Cry has earned recognition as one of the top playable courses in the country, including a No. 94 ranking on GOLF Magazine’s “Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S.” It also holds the No. 4 position in Golfweek’s “Best Courses You Can Play in Virginia” and No. 58 in Golfweek’s “Top 200 Resort Courses in the U.S.”

Keswick Hall offers 80 elegantly appointed guest rooms and inspiring dining experiences led by renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, including the signature Marigold restaurant. Guests can indulge in holistic treatments at The Spa at Keswick Hall, access the state-of-the-art fitness center, play on seven tennis courts and two pickleball courts, or unwind year-round at the heated, adults-only Horizon Pool with its sweeping infinity-edge views.
