Women-led, women-inspired brand offers welcome escape from traditional boxy styles
SEATTLE, WA — KINONA, a brand that aims to empower women on and off the golf course, is on a mission to bring stylish designs to the fairway. As golf gains popularity as a social distancing activity, more players are joining in, welcoming comfortable and modern apparel that incorporates functional elements to enhance the wearer’s game. KINONA’s new spring collection features attire that fits and flatters to help players look, feel, and play their best, with Italian fabrics and fashion-forward designs that will transport them into a vacation-like mindset.
Since its founding in 2017, KINONA has innovated and created fun, smartly designed pieces that enable unrestricted movement, while giving women the confidence that comes from the freedom of unabashed self-expression. And its spring collection continues that mission.
“With our new collection, we used a mix of bright colors, playful patterns, and exciting new silhouettes to help wearers feel as if they are out playing at an exotic resort, even if they are at their home course,” said KINONA Lead Designer, Jarlath Mellett. “Our intention for the spring collection is for KINONA to be your escape, and to bring you joy in wearing the clothes on and off the green.”
Compared to traditional golf attire, KINONA’s new spring collection features apparel that stretches, compresses, and conceals in the right places to flatter all figures. Pieces include their fashionable Swing and Swish, Prepped to Par, and To a Tee dresses, along with their Swing and Swish and Down the Middle skorts. The collection also has one-of-a-kind sleeveless, short sleeve, and long sleeve tops, along with trim shorts, crop pants, trousers, jackets, shrugs, and more. The whole collection is a play on the exotic, retro floral, and preppy fairway check, with sportif stripes that capture the classic KINONA spirit.
“Co-founder Dianne Celuch and I started this business because we love golfing, but couldn’t find clothes we were thrilled to wear. There are dress codes in golf, but that doesn’t mean women should settle for conservative, uncomfortable clothing that penalizes them for being who they are,” said KINONA Co-founder, Tami Fujii. “We knew we could do better.”
KINONA uses high-end fabrics to bring a superior fit and feel to each of their pieces. The company is known for using Italian fabrics that are combined with ECONYL® high quality regenerated nylon and lycra, while also incorporating shaping details into all products, including tee holders in pockets of all skorts, shorts, dresses, and jackets. Other features include UPF 50+ sun protection, low profile zip pockets, antimicrobial moisture wicking fabric, and fabrics that help maintain even body temperature. KINONA has added some new fabrics into their collections as well. Most notably, they have added new fabric that feels woven, but has the same stretch and UPF sun protection as their tried and true fabrics.
The new collection is now available on their website at www.kinonasport.com, with more unique styles coming to the collection in February. KINONA will begin offering size XXL this April, and will also be releasing their new cozy line, Après 18, this spring.
